John J. Mawhinney, SJ

The author of this review, John J. Mawhinney, received his Ph.D. in Social Ethics from the Religion Department of Temple University, Philadelphia. He has been a Jesuit for over fifty years. His major intellectual interest is the social analysis of U.S. foreign policy as it affects the poorest countries in the world. For eleven years he taught social analysis to, and counseled young Jesuits who were in their first four years of Jesuit seminary training. For another nine years he did economic development work among the poor in El Salvador. He now resides at Loyola Center Jesuit Residence, Merion Station, Pennsylvania.
